As Scotland may soon achieve at the ballot box what Gerry Adams couldn't achieve with the blood of thousands of civilians, let's look at what an independent Scotland's automotive industry might look like.
A quick perusal of English Wikipedia (English: now with more homonyms!), shows that the lone automotive manufacturing plant in Scotland is Alexander Dennis' bus plant in Falkirk. That seems to be the entirety of contemporary Scottish automotive manufacturing.
But if Yes prevails and Scotland foolhardy dream of sharing the Pound Sterling or tying their own currency to the Pound Sterling eventually fails, will English auto manufacturing move north to save costs? Cheaper labor without having to haul newly manufactured cars all the way from former Soviet republics would be mighty tempting for manufacturers, assuming Scotland manages to maintain free trade with the rest of the UK and the EU.
What do you think is the future of the Scottish automotive industry?

I didn't know Strathcarron was Scottish. I had heard of Argyll, though.
